Singapore/Hong Kong, 15 December 2020 – ActiveViam has emerged as the winner in the RegTech category for Big Data & Analytics in the 3rd Regulation Asia Awards for Excellence 2020 in an online ceremony on 15 December 2020.

ActiveViam’s ActivePivot solution is a robust and powerful object-based online analytical processing tool that provides real-time analytics capabilities through its transactional engine and multi-threaded processing. It can aggregate large amounts of fast moving data from multiple sources, storing it in its in-memory database to enable near real-time calculations to facilitate optimal decision-making.

ActivePivot is used by dozens of Tier 1 and Tier 2 banks to address the intensive storage and computational demands of BCBS (Basel Committee on Banking Supervision) requirements, such as calculations for market risk (VaR), credit risk (RWA), FRTB, intraday liquidity, among others. ActivePivot comes out-of-the-box with some full-fledged data connectors but is fully configurable to a bank’s technology architecture.

The solution is able to perform complex, non-linear calculations on large volumes of data incrementally as the data is updating, such as to run calculations for market risk across an entire enterprise, or in cases where large banks are trying to calculate Greeks-based VaR for millions of trades.

“The speed at which ActivePivot is able to process information is breaking new ground at banks,” said a judge on the awards panel. “The solution has been implemented at some of the world’s largest banks, because traditional databases and big data technologies are unable to handle computations fast enough to be decision-useful. ActiveViam’s technology is a real breakthrough.”
